The year was 1909 when Owensboro Livery and Undertaking began, with the first family served in March of 1910. In 1952, the Secretary of State approved an official name change to Owensboro Funeral Home, which was then located on Frederica Street. Haley McGinnis Funeral Home began serving this community in 1945 during WWII. There once was a beautiful metal spiral staircase which ran through the bell tower of the home that was taken out to donate to the war effort. It wasnâ_Tt until 1966 that Haley McGinnis consolidated its services to include the Owensboro Funeral Home. This merger made Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory the premier home to call on during a familyâ_Ts time of need.
