Funeral Professionals Peer Support (FPPS) and the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) welcome Dr. Jason Troyer as facilitator of the first peer support meeting of 2022. This virtual meeting means that you can join us from any device, wherever you are! “As a psychologist who works with funeral homes, and also works in one, I want to offer several suggestions for dealing with the additional stress created by the current epidemic,” said. Dr. Troyer, a grief expert, author, former psychology professor, and therapist. During the January meeting, Dr. Troyer will review specific strategies to heal from the challenges of the profession and the lingering emotional stress we all feel. A specialist in helping death care professionals serve their families better, Dr. Troyer has been talking with many funeral professionals across the country. ”The most consistent reactions I hear include sadness,” he explained “Funeral professionals are feeling sad that we haven’t been able do our job the way we would like, but please know that you continue to provide an invaluable service.
