CANA’s Annual Convention is the premier event for innovative cremation professionals to share ideas, learn from experts, and see the newest products and services from industry suppliers. This August 9-11, 2023, death care professionals are invited to Washington, D.C. to connect with cremation experts from across the profession, discover new products and services from more than 60 exhibitors, find inspiration while earning CE, and explore America’s capital city! The Funeral Service Foundation and CANA are working together to welcome five scholarship winners to help celebrate the 105th Cremation Innovation Convention. Valued at up to $2,200, each scholarship covers full registration for the event, plus three nights at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, and up to $500 in travel reimbursement. “The Foundation strives to make education accessible, which is why we are honored to expand our Foundation Scholarship Program to include CANA’s annual convention this year,” remarked Lisa Baue, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Funeral Service Foundation. “If you and your company do not have a strategy that includes cremation training, options and packages, and a strong cremation communication/marketing campaign, then this is the year to get them started.” Scholarships are open to anyone in funeral, cremation, and cemetery service who wants to invest in their success with cremation, including current students. A CANA membership is not required to receive a scholarship, but the opportunity is limited to US and Canadian applicants. If you’ve already registered for the CANA Convention, you can still apply! To complete an application, candidates are asked to describe how attending will fuel their career, what sets them apart from other applicants, describe their professional experience with cremation and what challenges they face as part of four short essay questions and a brief video. The deadline to apply is June 15, 2023 and scholarship winners will be notified in late-June to make their plans to join CANA in D.C. in August. For more information and to apply, candidates should visit goCANA.org/CANAROI. For any funeral professional who wants to support cremation innovation and commitment to the families they serve, donations to the scholarship fund are welcome. CANA is committed to furthering professional development and the success of our profession’s future.
