The best in cremation equipment and memorialization will be on view, including everything from large-scale equipment to artisanal-quality commemorative urns, jewelry, and sculpture. The new cremation statistics will be unveiled during the convention featuring trends in cremation growth across the US and Canada and at a state and provincial level. The CANA Convention will be held August 7 – 10, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Programming has been designed to directly inspire new levels of achievement in attendees’ businesses. The opening ceremony will reflect on 100 years of cremation’s history with a special video. Presenters will look back to move forward, drawing on lessons learned to shape the future of marketing, technology and business planning. The convention closes with an informative panel on government and legal affairs designed to explore the federal and local issues facing the death care industry. CANA’s brand new Crematory Operations Certification Program™ will debut on August 7. The new curriculum was created by subject matter experts —including the majority of crematory manufacturers—who wrote and produced a comprehensive new manual and workshop. It’s not all business, though. A trip to Arlington National Cemetery and a behind the scenes tour of cremation procedures will culminate with a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The final night of the convention features the CANA Centennial Dance Party with a live band and dinner.
