Despite unseasonably cool temperatures for Las Vegas in February, the CANA 2016 Cremation Symposium, held February 2-4 at the Tropicana Hotel, was the hot place to be, with the biggest attendance in ten years. This symposium is always the premier event for an audience hungry to benefit from the most relevant cremation-focused content that any industry meeting has to offer.

The learning began with the CANA Crematory Operations Certification Program™, where a room full of attendees were treated to the most comprehensive professional crematory operator training in the industry. Once the day-long program was over, both COCP and Cremation Symposium attendees mingled together for cocktails. They were joined by CANA leaders and supplier members as they perused the displays in the exhibit hall.

Over the next two days, a terrific roster of presenters demonstrated why the CANA Symposium is such a popular choice for continuing education among death care professionals. The mix of seasoned veterans and youthful innovators who were selected to interact with the audience made for an informative and entertaining program, notable for its forward-looking approach to addressing issues in cremation marketing and the death care industry. Attendees also took advantage of the opportunity to meet with the knowledgeable vendors and suppliers who were present to discuss the very latest products and services they had on offer in the exhibit hall.

On Thursday, CANA’s Education Director, Jennifer Head, unveiled CANA Education Online, the industry’s first-of-its-kind learning tool. This interactive system, available on phones, tablets and laptops, will enable industry professionals to obtain top-notch, quality online education while earning continuing education credits. Valuable topics include Cremation and the Environment, Phone Shoppers, Chain of Custody, Regulatory and Legal Issues, and more.

If you want to benefit personally and professionally from the most progressive and useful cremation content out there, be sure to join us for CANA’s 98th Annual Convention this summer. We invite you to come to the bustling metropolis of Chicago, Illinois to be rewarded by attending another productive and valuable CANA event. We’ll see you there August 10-12, 2016 for our signature blend of education, networking, and straight-up fun.
