Wheeling, IL – After a long and thoughtful discourse, Worsham College of Mortuary Science has decided to discontinue the proposed merger. Mergers, by nature, are complicated endeavors, and what on the surface seemed like a logical partnership, in the end, became impractical as cultural and logistical factors were too large to overcome. The Worsham College Board of Directors felt the best interest of Worsham College would be to maintain its independence. “There is no guide for mergers of colleges or the unique challenges that we encountered, and it was with the best intentions that we discussed all possible solutions” said Karl Kann, President Worsham College of Mortuary Science. “The commitment and passion of Worsham College has remained unchanged: serving our students, faculty and alumni as we continue to advance funeral service education” said Kann.
