Make plans to fly to Las Vegas in February for the Cremation Association of North America’s annual Cremation Symposium. (Capes are optional.) Set for February 5-7 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel, CANA’s 2019 Symposium promises a WHIZ! BAM! lineup of education and networking. And back by popular demand to kick things off will be the Art of Selling Cremation: A Preneed Summit, a one-day intensive on building a successful preneed program. The CANA Cremation Symposium provides owners and managers of funeral homes, cemeteries, and crematories with practical solutions for better serving their clients and growing their businesses. This year’s program will deliver insights and trends in consumer behavior, customer experience, marketing and technology — all aimed at helping attendees unleash their business superpowers. Other sessions will focus on staff development (including sample job descriptions and performance evaluations), building a stronger team (no trust falls involved), and becoming a leader in the workplace and the community… a real KAPOW! Owners and managers looking to create a preneed strategy or enhance their existing program will benefit from the Art of Selling Cremation summit on February 5. Experts will help them craft ambitious goals and steps for meeting them, including determining a target demographic (employing CANA data), developing a marketing plan, generating leads, and making the sale. Other reasons to attend this supercharged event? All symposium sessions offer continuing education credits. Plus, it’s the networking event of the year for our industry. CANA brings everyone together in one room to share the experience so that exhibitors don’t miss out on the programming and social events. Shorter sessions in 2019 will mean more time to interact with peers from across the country. And roundtable discussions allow for face time with presenters and other experts, arming you with individualized solutions. CANA has also planned its first-ever golf outing, set for February 4 at Las Vegas National Golf Course. Overall, a great chance to escape the winter blahs! So don’t wait — and don’t let a lack of knowledge be your kryptonite. Check out the complete program and registration info at http://www.gocana.org/CANAheroes. See you in February! ABOUT CANA Founded in 1913, the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) is an international organization of over 3,300 members, composed of funeral homes, cemeteries, crematories, industry suppliers, and consultants. CANA members believe that cremation is preparation for memorialization.
