Take a Break Before You Need a Break
Join the Virtual Funeral Professionals Peer Support Meeting in January

WHEELING, IL — As a funeral professional who has witnessed countless expressions of grief in the course of your work, you would never tell a family to stop crying and move on. So why do that to yourself? Dr. Karen Kramer, intuitive facilitator & energy healer, author, speaker, and CEO of the VillaVision Wellness & Retreat Center, facilitates the April Funeral Professionals Peer Support meeting to talk about the times we attempt to work too quickly through feelings of grief to fully process them, and to provide some ideas about what to do instead. Join the conversation at 8pm EDT / 7pm CDT / 5pm PDT on April 15, 2025, to share your own experience with grief and find relief.

Dr. Karen Kramer is a mindset coach and relationship expert with a background in business and leadership and delivers both personal and professional coaching to individuals who want to live their lives more fully. So, when facing her father’s death in 2012 and her own divorce in 2019, she was confident she could coach herself through, but the relief she found was only temporary.

“We live in a world where people want immediate results and ‘quick fixes,’ and we frequently deny ourselves the time and space to process our emotions fully,” explains Dr. Karen. “A lot of people like the DIY approach, particularly individuals who help other people through the grief process. But when we’re dealing with our own deep loss, sometimes we’re the worst people to be able to care for ourselves. When we deal with what’s underneath, as we approach the next series of losses that are coming in our life, we then are in a much healthier place to more easily process that grief.”

Like Dr. Karen says, grief is when what once was is no longer; the empty-nester whose children are gone or the retiree who isn’t sure how to fill the newly empty hours—or even those who’ve lost their hopes and dreams in the course of living life.

Bring your experience with any kind of loss to the meeting, and take some time to share your grief and discover resources to fuel your future. Join the virtual funeral professional peer support meeting Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 8pm ET / 7pm CT / 5pm PT via Zoom link at cremationassociation.org/peersupport. No registration is required, simply follow the link to join.

If you cannot attend a peer support meeting or are seeking support outside of this time, Funeral Professionals Peer Support’s Warmline is open 24/7 for calls and texts: (613) 917-8057 (call or text).
